An interesting article on yesterday’s Atlantic Wire features information from Dachis Group’s Social Business Index, a “real-time” ranking of approximately 30,000 global brands based on their social media performance. Most notable on this week’s list and in the article is UK-based Reckitt Benckiser-a consumer goods company that owns Lysol and Durex condoms. Reckitt’s stature rose 16 spots on the SBI from 141 to 125 due to the recent posting of Spain’s Durex Love Sex Facebook page. The FB page had information on the six phases one’s body experiences when reaching orgasm.
“While many confirmed the validity of the 6 phases, others asked (via a comment) for someone to test the theory with them,” according to Dachis Group’s Allison Squires.
Durex is the top condom in most of the world and currently has only a 15 percent share of a $430 million U.S. market, according to an article in Businessweek.
