
Starbucks has been voted the “most loved” restaurant brand by U.S. consumers on social media channels in the first half of 2012, according to an article on MediaPost News. DigitalCoCo, a social media analytics company, tracked over 3,400 restaurant brands and looks at more than 32,000 terms on social media attributed to the restaurant and hospitality industry to come up with scores in food, service and brand sentiment.
Rounding out the top five”most loved” restaurants are Red Mango, Panera Bread, Boudin Sourdough Bakery & Cafe and Peet’s Coffee & Tea. Chick-fil-A, which originally came in in tenth place, had its ranking in the consumer sentiment index drop by almost half in the wake of a gay-marriage-statement controversy.
