United Airlines Frequent Flyer Program Joins Forces With a Social Media Engagement Site

United Airlines’ Mileage Plus program has joined forces with Chicago-based Bckstgr.com where frequent flyers can earn points for promoting Bckstgr partner brands through various social media outlets, according to an article in the Chicago Business Journal.

Bckstgr technology can track members’ points of social engagement and immediately credit a person’s frequent flyer account when they tweet, like, watch videos, follow or fills out surveys of a partner brand. Not all actions of users are equal for purposes of this credit.

Bckstgr.com founder and CEO Justin Jarvinen has not yet released the partner brands list that have signed up to work with his company.  With the mileage points earned through Bckstgr.com-connected social engagement or with preexisting MileagePlus frequent flyer points, members of Bckstgr can bid on or purchase prizes such as concert or theater tickets, or meals hosted and prepared by celebrity chefs.

The platform will go live on Nov. 1. and will at that time invite visitors to become members.
